The Blackwater Mine is located within the traditional territories of the Lhoosk’uz Dené Nation and Ulkatcho First Nation. Other components of Blackwater cross the traditional territories of Nadleh Whut’en First Nation, Saik’uz First Nation, Stellat’en First Nation and Nazko First Nation.
